1st November 2018

The 4th November 2018, sees the premiere of a great new film documenting the birth of British blues at The Ealing Jazz Club in London. The club in Ealing was the first all-electric blues venue in the UK. The premiere of "SUBURBAN STEPS TO ROCKLAND"   at The Barbican is already sold out, but there will be other screenings to come. The film features interviews with our own DON CRAINE along with John Mayall, Ronnie Wood, Eric Burdon, Ginger Baker, Paul Jones as well as friends and family of ALEXIS KORNER. There are some great rare and previously unseen photos and footage not to be missed!

Out now is a wonderful new video documentary on the history of Eel Pie Island. "Clinging To A Mudflat" is all about the music, residents, the fire and the boats. Eel Pie Island played a vital part in the birth of the British Blues Explosion playing host to bands like The Rolling Stones, John Mayall's Blues Breakers, The Downliners Sect, Savoy Brown, Cyril Davies, Long John Baldry et al. I play harp on the soundtrack and  over the credits. Take a look below or on YouTube, Vimeo, Daily Motion etc.
The amusing recollections of DON CRAINE are very much in evidence along with background harp and footage of The Downliners John O'Leary.
